About Level Up RV
From the Racetrack to RV Expertise: Our Journey
Let’s face it—I’m not a camper. Suzanne and I have always preferred 4- and 5-star hotels over roughing it. But I also don’t like early mornings. In the world of racing, early starts are the norm, and when the closest decent hotel is 30 minutes from the track, you start looking for alternatives.
So in 2021, I pulled the trigger on a Class A diesel pusher—the biggest one we could find with the most horsepower, all while fitting the floor plan we could agree on. I had never owned an RV before. But then again, I had never owned a race car when I bought my first one.
Thankfully, the bank required an inspection—something that hadn’t even crossed my mind. And am I glad they did! The coach was in great shape, with everything in good working order. Like everything I do, I went big—both feet in, straight into the deep end. As I started diving into the world of RVs, I quickly realized just how lucky I had been with that first purchase.
I realized that most first-time buyers are just as lost as I was. And too often, the RVs they buy have problems—sometimes big, expensive ones. I wanted to help, so I jumped into Facebook groups, learning as much as I could and offering advice where possible. But it wasn’t enough. That’s when I found the answer—becoming a Certified RV Inspector and Technician. With the right training and knowledge, I could make a bigger impact, helping fellow travelers avoid costly mistakes and enjoy the RV lifestyle with confidence.

My Journey to Becoming an RV Tech & Inspector
My career has taken me through some incredible experiences, each one building the skills that now make me a knowledgeable and capable RV inspector and technician.
I spent 15 years in the U.S. Air Force, Colorado Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserves as an electronics technician. I worked on Early Warning Radar, aircraft maintenance, and communication/navigation systems—fields where precision and attention to detail were non-negotiable.
After my time in the military, I jumped into the family business as a licensed plumber and later became a general contractor, managing projects ranging from small bathroom remodels to full-scale car dealership constructions. Those years gave me hands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural work—skills that directly translate to RV systems today.
Then, I turned my passion for cars into a business. I owned and operated a Corvette service, sales, and repair shop, which eventually led me into the world of racing. That passion grew into a successful motorsports business where I learned chassis engineering, race car preparation, strategy, and competition at a high level. Racing is still an active part of my life, and our team continues to achieve great results.
Somewhere along the way, I discovered RVing—not because I was a natural camper, but because I needed a better way to stay at the track. That first Class A diesel pusher led me down a whole new road. I quickly realized how much there was to learn about RVs and how many new owners were struggling with the same things I had.
That’s why I founded Level Up RV. I became registered with NRVTA and certified by NRVIA, so I could use my technical background to help fellow RV owners avoid costly mistakes, stay safe on the road, and get the most out of their RVs.
With a mix of military discipline, hands-on technical expertise, and real-world problem-solving, I bring a unique skill set to the RV industry. Whether it’s an inspection, a repair, or just advice, my goal is simple: to help people enjoy the RV lifestyle with confidence.
